It’s been a bit since my last post, unfortunately I was under the weather. Since then, I’ve been thinking that last post I wrote about the force of life could be expanded upon just a little bit. Before you read any more, I want you, the reader, to understand that I’m also writing for myself. I hope for all of this to be a start of a new journey for myself. By putting down my thoughts about how I perceive things, I’m also learning and refining my own thoughts about the topics I’m putting forth. I’m also learning more about myself. That’s always been the deep down ultimate goal I’ve always had in my life, to learn and grow. One of the reasons I loved being a software engineer was that it required constant learning. That same desire to learn and grow is what is motivating me to write these posts. I am, or course, deeply hopeful that my thoughts will resonate with others, but I don’t expect them to with everyone. Nor all of the time for even those it does. After all, we all are unique individuals.
I’m often astonished how we all have unique perspectives on the Universe around us. Certainly a combination of our genetics, upbringing, life experiences, and environment do have a role to play in that. Physically, we’re all human beings. We all share the same basic DNA structure that makes us humans. Spiritually, we’re all sourced from the same force of life. We all carry the same force of life in us. We all the ability to connect into that source, which is the core of the Universe. Yet, over our lifetimes, we’ve all gained unique experiences. From those, and other factors, come our unique perspectives.
What I was attempting to convey in my last post is that there is a force of life that emanates from the core of the Universe. That there is a power of love that emanates from that force of life. That there is a light that shines from that power. That love and light of the Universe is the same love and light of life which is inside us. I wrote that the more we can tap into it in our individual lives, the more powerful it becomes for ourselves. I also wrote that the more of us who are willing tap into that power of love, the more powerful it becomes for the world around us.
There’s a Utopian ideal that John Lennon wrote about in his beautiful song, Imagine. “Imagine all the people, living life in peace…”. Unfortunately that ideal of “all the people” is not likely to come about. We know from the behavior of others that not everyone desires that ideal. However, it shouldn’t preclude those of us who want a better world to continue to push for one. The alternative is indeed grim. While sometimes it may feel that we are headed towards a cliff, I personally believe we can turn it around and do much better. It comes down to our individual and group mindsets. We can individually and collectively imagine better, despite the forces that work against us. There is an ever greater power in numbers. We can make for us a better world to live in. For us and our children, and so on. For our children’s children’s children.
What I’m trying to convey is a strong feeling that I have deep down inside of me that it’s worth it to try to improve our situation. We humans are worth saving, and we can only save ourselves. We have so many amazing things about to happen. The human race has so many great untapped potentials to be yet realized. We have the ability to tap into ourselves, into the Universal Love that exists, and bring it out into the world. Yes, we also can, and have, exuded darkness. But we also have this ability, to bring out love and light. So, why not try doing it? My thought is that the more and more people who can reflect this power of love into the world, the more powerful it will get. The power of love grows exponentially. As long as we find ourselves alive, why not do the best we can do for ourselves, and the world? That’s a large part of the impetus behind my thinking as I write these posts.
For me, It’s worked wonders to tap into the deeper levels of the force of life every day for most of my adult life. By doing so, my life has and continues to get better and better. That doesn’t mean there haven’t been challenges, and obstacles. Certainly there have been, and always will be. For one thing, I can’t control what other people do or say. That not only means people well outside my sphere of influence, but also people within. I can’t control how others think about me, or act towards me. All I can do is control how I act and think, about myself and others. Certainly it’s not always easy. I’ve definitely had some things happen that have been less than optimal over my life, who hasn’t? It’s how we react to it, and how we go on from there that really matters. Without a doubt, having the tools for being able to reach inside myself into that deep well of love and light has been the key for me. It’s not instantaneous, it’s cumulative. That’s what has worked for me, to pull me up and out of crisis situations.
That’s one of the reasons I know that it can work for the world. It’s worked for me on an individual level. Of this there is no doubt, the world is in a crisis. If more and more of us can dig into ourselves and shine out that light of love, shine out that power of love, I am deeply confident that we will have a powerful effect on steering our world into a better place. It’s not a hard thing to do, it’s really quite simple. As I’ve already mentioned, it’s cumulative and exponential. The more you can tap into the power of love inside of you, the power of love form the core of the Universe, the stronger the power of love will be inside of you. The stronger that power of love will shine out from within you, the more it will affect your surroundings.
Sometimes it may seem rather futile to think like this, I completely get that. A lot of us have been trying to talk and act about this for much of our lives. I personally think the world has come a long way since the 1960s, when a lot of people initially tapped into this power. I’m not saying that people didn’t tap into it before, but I think a lot more did during that time. There was an awakening in the world. That power of light and love changed things. While it didn’t fix everything, of course, it moved the needle. It’s time for us to move the needle again. Yes, the world is in crisis, but yes, also, there’s a lot of magic happening. We are living in magical times, and it’s up to us to lift that magic of love and light into the world.
This is what I’ll be trying to do with the rest of my time in this body. To do my part, however small it may be, to help move the needle some more. I invite others who will to join me in doing so! As Robert Hunter beseeched us:
“Won’t you try just a little bit harder, couldn’t you try just a little bit more?”.
The Wheel indeed is turning, and it won’t slow down.
